It’s hard to imagine the European New Year holidays without “The Nutcracker”. The faery plot of the Christmas tale by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann is about the girl’s night dreams on the eve of the holiday. “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” gained the literary popularity after its publishing in 1816. The Nutcracker is a brave serviceman dressed in bright maroon dolman with white ropes and shining buttons and a sharp sabre. Using Hoffmann’s fairy tale, the composer Peter Tchaikovsky wrote his world-famous ballet “The Nutcracker” (one of the attributes of the New Year holidays) in Saint Petersburg in 1892. Based on Hoffmann’s fairy tale and Tchaikovsky’s ballet in 2015 Ternopil craftsmen created a collection of toys that are becoming popular in the whole world. After all, it was invited to participate in a special project within the International Frankfurt Christmas Fair.
